As per the latest update, The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced an extension of winter vacations for schools across the valley till March 7 due to the ongoing harsh weather conditions and persistent cold wave. As per the latest news on Winter Vacations 2025 Extended in Kashmir. Official said that the decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Minister for School Education, Sakina Itoo, this morning.
They said the decision followed reports from respective Deputy Commissioners regarding snowfall, as well as a weather forecast predicting inclement conditions in Jammu and Kashmir by the MeT Department.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) issued an official order extending the winter break, citing the “prevailing inclement weather conditions” as the primary reason. The extension applies to all government and private schools in the region.

Initially, winter vacations were scheduled to end in the last week of February . However, with the extension, schools will now remain closed until March 7, 2025 .
