Emotional Story of A Student From Kashmir – Aamir
Aamir (name changed), naam hai mera (from Srinagar, Kashmir) .. 10th standard mein hu… Coaching, school, hometasks—teen jagah pressure. Papa roz kehte, “Hamare zamane mein hum top karte the.” Maa kehti, “Beta, ghar ka naam rakhna.”
Eng Translation : My name is Aamir (psuedonym) , I hail from Srinagar kashmir. I am in 10th class and get to feel a lot of pressure – be it from Coaching, School or hefty home works. My dad frequently reminds me of his achievements and in one way or the other tries to make me feel low . Same goes with my mother who out of her innocence wants me to become a top performer.

Aamir’s Real Problem No One Tries to Listen
Me ne mehnat ki. Sach mein kar raha hu. Lekin exam ke pehle mere haath kaanpne lagte he. Neend nahi aati thi. Apne maa-baap ko batane ki koshish ki—”Mujhe dar lagta hai.” … Lekin kahan kisi ko nazar aate mere ye zakhm

Eng Translation : I am working hard. Really I do try to work hard. But I get pretty hysterical before exams. I can’t sleep out of fear of exams. I tried to talk to my parents but to no avail.
Aur phir kya exam aaye, Exam hall mein phir se wohi nervousness , anxiety and phir se paper kharaab kar diya. Ghar aaya, apne kamre mein band hua. Socha—”Agar main nahi rahunga toh papa ko kisi se compare karne ki zaroorat nahi padegi.”
Eng Translation : And there came the exams and the same story of repeated failure for me again. Reached home, slammed the door shut and got into a thinking ” What If I am no more, Will this loop of failures and domestic torture of comparison come to an end? “
The Emotional Torture Begins
Bohot torture hogaya mera us ke baad … khaana khaate time , subah sham har din mujhh ko ye ehsaas dilaaya jaata hai ki me kuch bhi nai hu…Agar kuch bhi hoo to ik waste….
Eng Translation : After that exam, I suffered a lot of torture at home every time. I was made to believe I was a waste.
Meine khudkushi to nahin ki , par ab bhi ek darr sa laga rehta hai jo kahi na kahi mujhe roz andar se maar raha hai ; har pal har roz… Kuch bhi samajh nai aaraha hai …
Eng Translation : I haven’t done suicide yet, but my imagination does kill me every day. I live in extreme fear of tomorrow. Don’t know what’s gonna happen to me.
Aamir’s Message to Parents
Mein nahi kehta ki Parents ko bacho ki fikr nai karni chahiye lekin unko ye bhi khayal rehna chahiye ki kahin wo apne bache ko apni expectations ke chakkar me usse andar se khokla to nai kar rahe hai…
Eng Translation : I don’t say, Parents shouldn’t be bothering about their pupils but in the wake of their expectations, they sometimes, unknowingly, make their child rotten.
Eng Translation : Parents must discuss and listen to what their children want to say and the children too should take a step forward to try to understand the view point of parents. When both sides hear each other out, then a better and healthy relationship would prop out that would not only benefit them but the generations to come.
“Parents bachhe ka best chahte hai, lekin best ke chakkar mein wo uska khud ka best dekhna bhool jaate hai.”
